Goa’s best sights are spread along a long coastline and up its river valleys, which makes a private sightseeing cab with a driver the most practical way to see them. You set the pace, stop where you like, and avoid working out transport between each place.
Below are ideas for planning your day. We do not sell fixed packages; instead we quote for the day you actually want.
North Goa sightseeing taxi
North Goa is the busier half of the coast, popular for its beaches, markets and nightlife. A typical North Goa day might include:
- Fort Aguada and Candolim for the old Portuguese fort and lighthouse above the sea
- Calangute and Baga for Goa’s best-known beaches
- Anjuna and Vagator for cliffs, cafes and, on market days, the Anjuna flea market
- Chapora Fort for wide views over the Chapora river and coast
- Mapusa for its busy local market
South Goa sightseeing taxi
South Goa is quieter, with long beaches and traditional villages. A South Goa day might include:
- Colva and Benaulim for wide, sandy beaches
- Cabo de Rama for a clifftop fort with sea views
- Palolem, Agonda and Patnem for the crescent bays of Canacona
- Margao for the market and Portuguese-era buildings
- Bogmalo for a small beach close to the airport, and the Naval Aviation Museum nearby
Old Goa and Panaji
Old Goa’s churches and convents are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and include the Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Se Cathedral. Pair them with Panaji, the state capital, for the colourful Latin quarter of Fontainhas, the riverside and Miramar beach. This makes a good half day or full day.
Dudhsagar Falls
Dudhsagar Falls lie in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary on the Goa and Karnataka border. Access to the falls is controlled and usually involves a separate jeep safari from the sanctuary side, and the route is generally closed during the monsoon. Ask us before planning around it and we will tell you what is possible on your dates.
Goa beach tour by taxi
If beaches are the priority, choose one region and let the driver take you between several of them, with time to swim and eat. It is a relaxed way to spend a day and to decide where to return later in your trip.
Tips for a good sightseeing day
- Start early, especially between March and May when afternoons are hot
- Focus on one region rather than crossing the whole state in a day
- Carry water, sun protection and suitable clothing for churches
- Agree start time, finish time and areas covered when you book
Can I combine my airport transfer with sightseeing?
Often yes, for example a stop at Old Goa on the way to a hotel in North Goa. Mention it when you book so it is included in the fare.
Is this a tour package with a guide?
No. We provide a private taxi with a driver who knows the roads. If you would like a licensed guide at a particular site, it is best arranged separately.
