Palolem is a crescent-shaped bay in Canacona, the southernmost taluka of Goa. With its palm-fringed beach, beach huts and calm water, it is one of the most photographed places in the state. It is also one of the longer drives from Dabolim, which is why most travellers pre-book their Palolem beach cab from the airport.
Why pre-book a taxi to Palolem
The road south from the airport passes through Salcete and the hills of Canacona. After a flight, it is easier to have a comfortable car waiting than to arrange one on arrival. For this longer transfer, a vehicle with enough space for your luggage makes a real difference, so tell us your bag count and we will suggest the right car.
Palolem, Patnem and Agonda
- Palolem. The main bay, with beach huts, cafes and kayaking.
- Patnem. A smaller, quieter beach just south of Palolem.
- Agonda. A long, peaceful beach to the north of Palolem.
- Galgibaga and Talpona. Quiet beaches further south.
Many places to stay here are beach huts or small guesthouses set back from the sand. Share the exact name and a map pin, and if the property is on the beach itself, ask them where cars can drop guests.
Arriving by train instead
Canacona station is close to Palolem. If you are arriving by rail, see railway station transfers.
Your return to Dabolim
Because this is a longer journey, give yourself generous time for your departure transfer. We will suggest a pickup time based on your flight.
Can we stop on the way to Palolem?
Yes. Many travellers stop for a meal or at Cabo de Rama fort. Mention it when you book.
Do you also go to Agonda and Patnem?
Yes. Share your hotel name for a fare.
